Then paste wax on the surfaces and a dry gun lube for the moving parts. I found a bottle of "auto degreaser" that is used on engine blocks and such, I assumed it would be safe on the tables. It worked like a charm. I took off the majority of the stuff with a card, and then sprayed them down with the degreaser. The jointer and table saw look so much better. Is there a cheaper alternative? Pghmyn, Having just purchased a few new Grizzly tools myself, I just went through the pain of removing all the "goo". Some strengths work better than others on different surfaces. Then cleaning grease with baking soda is an option. Just sprinkle baking soda onto a damp sponge or a non-abrasive pad and wipe down all your greasy surfaces.
Once done, follow up with a damp cloth to remove any residue. You can use baking soda to tackle grease stains on many surfaces, even pots, pans, and your sink drain.

Over time, Cosmoline may have seeped into nooks, crevices, and gaps in the metal but it is actually fairly simple to remove. The cleaning process begins with removing as much of the Cosmoline as possible.
This involves two steps:. You can do this by wrapping your firearm in towels and placing it in a black trash bag and leaving it sit out in the sun, or using another heat source—such as a heat gun or older oven—to return the Cosmoline to its liquid state. Attempting to remove the rust-preventive after letting it warm up will turn the Cosmoline into an oilier coating, as opposed to a thicker, wax-like substance. A sealed PVC tube or large container are both good for soaking guns in mineral spirits, depending on the size of the firearm and container.
You can opt to disassemble your firearm before you start this process or keep your gun intact throughout the cleaning process. This might be a little late but I used break cleaner on my table top and then waxed the top.
Nothing else seemed to work as well as the break cleaner. Keep the fan going or you will get a contact buzz from the fumes. Last edited by DHead ; , PM. WD 40 worked great for me. TS Chuck. I used Pine-Sol on mine. It has a nicer odor than the other suggestions.
It's also quite effective, it even worked a treat on my Delta jointer which should have been labelled 'box of oil and grease also jointer '. If you're considering using Bostik TopCote- I put it on my and ended up with some small rust spots rainy climate. Johnson's Paste Wax was much more effective for me.
